Kodak Mwen
Haiti is a land of poverty, hunger, voodoo, hate, fear, and sacrifice. It is never the place that I thought I would find myself, but in the summer of 2007 that is where I was. My girlfriend at the time (now my wife of course) Jillian wanted to take a mission team to Haiti to visit the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. After that I was hooked. Yes, Haiti is all of those things that I listed above, but there is so much beauty there too. The beauty is found in the faces of children and in the love that the people have for the Lord. I have taken thousands of pictures in my last four trips, and it always is the pictures of the children that I keep comming back to. Some of my favorite pictures are from my last trip in May 2009. I chose to shoot in black and white for most of the trip and used the bright Caribbean sun to give me the great contrasts. Enjoy.
